A week or so ago, I posted about Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year, Marsala, pertaining to fashion. Today, I thought we could take a look at this pretty color in design.
I love this color so much because it is not one that only works with certain design styles. Here we see a pretty traditional kids’ room with variations of the color throughout.
And then, in the same breath, we have a more contemporary kids’ room using the same variation of color.
An easy, non-committal way to bring this color into your space is with a rug. Especially if you want a graphic print.
This room packs a big punch, but I love it for that. Marsala toile is upholstered on the walls, furniture, and, most likely, the window treatments.

Another non-permanent way to implement this color — flowers! These look so pretty in this neutral office.
A Marsala sofa is definitely a bold choice, but in this room, it is a lasting staple.
There’s something about this color that looks incredibly beautiful with brass/gold accents.
I would like to wrap myself in those window treatments and revel in the swishing sound! 🙂

A great application of color. That white is bright and grounded so beautifully.
