I am the first one to admit that when it comes to housewarming parties, I am one to run to the store, grab a bottle of wine and a gift bag, and call it good. But there are so many cute ideas for DIY housewarming gifts that are so much more thoughtful and that, if I had more time, I would probably think to do. Since weekends are the party-centric day variety of the seven-day week, I thought we could look at some cute housewarming gift ideas today, on a Saturday. 🙂
I love this one because it covers all of your bases — fancy soap, towels, a plant, and a basket. Nothing is superfluous — all of these things truly do warm a house.
A little bit of breakfast for the next morning — this could be dropped off while your friends are moving for them to enjoy the next day when they are settling in. And the baked goods don’t have to be homemade — there are a lot of pretty breakfast pastry options to choose from at nicer grocery stores.
This is a really cute idea — basically all of the things that you need as far as the hardware store goes, right when you move in, thus eliminating a late-night trip or two to Home Depot.
Love this — a cook book wrapped in a dish towel with a kitchen utensil attached.
DIY Scrabble Coasters — adorable!
Great housewarming jar filled with all sorts of fun things. Chip clips, fancy jam, paper straws, dish soap, muffin liners…
Taking the bottle of wine up a notch! 🙂
Homemade frozen cookie dough — so that the recipient can make cookies whenever the mood strikes them. And so their new home can smell like cookies. Because, honestly, if you don’t love that smell, we can’t be friends.
