Happy Monday! How was your weekend? We enjoyed ours but it is so hot here and at this point, I am over it. BUT, too bad for me because we’re really not going to get much of a break in temperature until mid-September. We’ve all just got to deal with it and also commiserate with each other! 🙂 The weather is something we’ve all got in common — it’s hot for everyone!
My mom-in-law has been bringing home fresh flowers every week and creating a little arrangement on the breakfast bar, and this is her newest bouquet. 🙂 It’s little details like this that just make my day. Also, a little secret for flower longevity is to add three ice cubes into your vessel per day.
On Saturday Greyson was working and I slept in but once I was up and ready, I decided to head out to a coffee shop that I love and read some blogs — one of my favorite things to do! 🙂 This particular coffee shop has an amazing selection of homemade baked goods and I just couldn’t pass up this pretty cupcake. White cake with lemon cream cheese frosting…it was so good. I was so excited when I took my first bite and realized that it wasn’t buttercream! I’m not a buttercream person, but cream cheese frosting? I’m all over that!
Like I said, it has been so hot, so all I really do is view the patio as I’m traveling up and down the hallway leading to the back of the house. The hallway has two giant windows and I love seeing all the pretty out there. Once a day I straighten up a bit — fluff the pillows, etc. — just in case someone has been brave enough to be out there. Occasionally I pick up Kuma’s poop because one of his favorite spots to go is by the window, lol, and no one wants to see that!
I got the prettiest orchid for our casita at Trader Joe’s yesterday. There really is no better place to buy an orchid — I only paid $12.99 for this one and it is huge! It came in a terracotta pot but I switched it out for this white one I already had.
This is the first thing I see when I walk in the door of our room, and I just love that happy orchid greeting me. The window has a beautiful view out to the pool (and the gorgeous red pool loungers!) so the plant gets the perfect amount of sunshine during the day.
I hope you had the best day! I’ve got some summery vignettes to show you this week that I’m excited to share. 🙂
