Elevating a Simple Gift

Hey, friends!  Happy Monday to you!  I hope you had a great weekend.  🙂

I stayed up late on Friday night and had so much fun putting up our Spring decorations.  I’ve had the bin pulled down since the beginning of the month but it’s taken me some time to feel like I was in the mood.  Because you’ve gotta be in the mood for that kind of thing to make it fun, right?!  Anyway, I’m super excited to share that with you soon — I took photos on Saturday.  I went pretty simple this year and didn’t purchase very much — I was really just going for small touches here and there to make it feel festive.

I wanted to share a little way that I elevate a simple gift that I give out to friends and family all the time.  I always have bananas that are going bad — we can never eat them fast enough, lol!  Some weeks I freeze them for smoothie bowls, and other weeks I make a couple loaves of banana bread.  If I’m seeing anyone — friend or family — around that time, I give the bread as a little gift for no particular reason.  It’s easy to make a double batch of the bread and people always appreciate it.

Of course I’m a sucker for pretty gift wrapping and packaging the loaves in a cute way is just a nice way to elevate the experience a bit.  I always have a bunch of fun wrapping paper on-hand (thank you, HomeGoods!) and I have a ribbon problem and buy anything I think is adorable, lol.  I just wrap up the loaves in plastic wrap and then cut a piece of wrapping paper large enough to wrap around the loaf.  Sometimes I use regular ol’ tape, and sometimes I use some kind of sticker.  I love these gold seals from PaperSource and use them for everything!  Then I just tie the ribbon around in any configuration that floats my boat.

This is perfect for hostess gifts and just-because gifts.  A very small and simple way of loving on someone and showing you care.  🙂  Something homemade is always special to me.  It means a lot to me that someone would prepare something in their kitchen for me — gives me the warm and fuzzies.

I hope you have a great rest of your Monday!
